Cynergy Academy Win NSPL:
The Cynergy feeder team proved all the doubters wrong after battling all through 2007 to earn the top spot in Division 1 of the NSPL! It was a long hard fight, but the team dug deep and overcame all obstacles to secure that First Place and the title of NSPL 2007 Div 1 Champions.
Playing the 7-Man Div-1 format of the NSPL in the teams first season together was always going to be a challenge, particularly as the team’s sights were set on the win right from day one; a big challenge with a lot of pressure to perform. The guys lived up to expectations and have performed well all season, ultimately entering in to a two way battle for first place with Samurai. It went right to the wire, with the results of the final fixture of the season deciding who walked away with the bragging rights and prize of two paid Millennium Entries! Despite player injuries and a lot of criticism from their peers, Cyn Academy pulled through, battled on and took the win 9 points ahead of Samurai.
So, mission complete and the Academy soldiers have now set their sights on the PA league for 2008, playing the X-Ball format as well as taking advantage of those Millennium entries. The pressure is by no means off – nothing less than a win next season will satisfy the team.
Huge thanks to all of the teams who competed in the NSPL Div 1 during 2007 – it was a great season, really competitive because of the amount of commitment and drive from those teams. Also, cheers to the refs, Proto Paintball, Draxxus, Paintball Warehouse, and everyone who helped us achieve the goal of becoming the NSPL 2007 Div 1 Champions!
